Hi, I’m Erica Thurlow, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in mindfulness and evidence-based practices like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). I specialize in working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals, honoring their unique wiring and building lives aligned with their values.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly 20 years working as a grip/rigging grip in the film industry. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for creativity, high-pressure environments, and the importance of meaningful human connection. I earned my M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy from Hope International University, where I also trained as an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist. Whether you're seeking emotional processing, relationship repair, or making peace with your past, we'll work together in cultivating acceptance, empowerment, and change.
It's hard to find non-judgmental therapy, especially when dealing with subjects that evoke shame. That's why I collaborate to create a therapy that meets you as you are. I hold an affirming space for marginalized orientations, neurotypes, and relationship styles. We can work to navigate major issues like trauma, sexuality and life changes, or an ongoing condition like depression or anxiety. I am also passionate about supporting people through their gender journeys. My therapy is not just inclusive, but is LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity affirming. I also enjoy working with couples or relationship groups as they navigate challenges.

Hello! I’m a holistic and integrative Stanford-trained psychiatrist accepting clients for weekly therapy using brainspotting.
Brainspotting actually happens naturally in all great therapy!
Brainspotting is a therapy that doesn’t rely on talking the whole time—instead, it helps access deeper parts of the brain tied to emotion, memory, and instinct. By holding attention on certain spots in your visual field, we can open up access to unresolved feelings or experiences that might not come up through words alone.
Once we get to know one another, we help you enter a light altered state using eye positioning and music and using neuroscience principles and a background in psychedelic therapy, we allow your brain and body to guide you towards resolution. I am Level 1 certified and look forward to working with you!
