Hi everyone! My name is Ivy, and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner based in Orlando, FL.
I am a 28 year old female (she/her) that enjoys watching anime, playing video games, and spending time with my five cats.
Outside of work, I like to spend time with my fiance. We love to explore and try new food places, so if you're looking for recommendations, I have tons!
I have a professional background in counseling with specialized training in substance use prevention and treatment. I also work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and challenges with emotional regulation. My approach is empathetic, human, and person-centered, always honoring your unique story. I’m here to support you in reaching your full potential through a holistic perspective that values emotional, physical, and social wellness.
I have background experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression, or similar symptoms, as well as substance abuse, some trauma (primarily relationship and attachment-related), and occupational or educational challenges or stressors. During my graduate program, I was placed in practicum as a career advisor and worked with undergraduate and graduate students at the university career development center. I then interned as a therapist at a substance abuse therapist...
I often work with clients through:
-Post traumatic stressors disorder (PTSD) or other impacts of trauma
-Depression
-Anxiety-Grief/Loss
-Improving self-esteem
-Processing family dynamics
I utilize mindfulness techniques in my session to help clients slowly be more present in their experience and as part of the coping skills we can learn to manage emotions.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology from Troy University.
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, providing compassionate, honest, and collaborative care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and understood.
I am offering individual therapy. I am passionate about those suffering from anxiety and depression. I have experience working with people of a wide range of ages. I also can be a source of support for navigating life transitions and ADD/ADHD. Together, we can defeat self-defeating habits, create and strengthen coping skills, and shift a problematic mindset. For those who are interested, I also am experienced in teaching Mindfulness-Based coping skills in sessions.
