Hello,
It's a pleasure to meet you.
As a social worker I believe prioritizing mental health is key to an individual's ability to live a productive life. We all need support at some point in our lives so thank you for taking the first step to the road to empowerment. I have provided individual and group therapy to adults for the past eight years.
My name is Melissa DePaolo, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my BSW from Mansfield University and my MSW from Marywood University. I have 20+ years of experience providing therapeutic services to children/youth, adults, and families in outpatient mental health/public schools. Currently, I am a School Social Worker with experience at the elementary and secondary levels. Other experience includes geriatric, criminal justice, and clinical administration.
I am a licensed Clinical and School Psychologist (PhD) with 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through a variety of life's challenges. My work spans clinical, educational, and therapeutic settings, giving me a deep understanding of how emotional well-being intersects with learning, relationships, and daily functioning across the life-span. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and solution-focused strategies. I work with children, adolescents, and adults on concerns including anxiety and stress management, depression and mood difficulties, life transitions and adjustments, emotion regulation and coping skills, behavioral and school related concerns, parenting support and guidance, and executive functioning skills.
I believe our past can shape us, but it doesn’t have to define who we become. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts and New York with over 12 years of experience, I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex family dynamics. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I also believe therapy should be tailored to each individual—there’s no one-size-fits-all path to growth. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, thoughts, and experiences that may be holding you back and develop practical tools to help you move forward. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you build the life you want.
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) providing virtual therapy for adults across NYS. I've been practicing since 2013, with a clinical background in PTSD and general outpatient mental health.
I am nationally certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), and have formal training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy.
Compassionate therapist experienced with all age groups and diverse backgrounds. I am able to develop strong connections quickly. I have experience working with addictions and substance abuse. Active involvement in the community as a facilitator and advocate provides me with an awareness and knowledge for all challenges in life that impact mental health.
Having worked with a diverse population I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I seek to help you on your unique path of self-empowerment and healing. While I work with everyone across age ranges, my primary focus has been on the LGBTQ+ population struggling with anxiety, depression, identity, and trauma.
