I’m a warm, light-hearted therapist who believes that healing begins with feeling understood. I work with teens, adults, and couples to help them explore their emotions, strengthen relationships, and build self-awareness. I bring humor and creativity into the therapy space to make even the hard work feel approachable. My background includes experience in anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and trauma-informed care. I’m passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves and create lives that feel grounded, authentic, and fulfilling.
As a devoted therapist, I believe that we all have the inner strength to overcome our obstacles, sometimes we just need the education, support, and empowerment to help us along. It takes strength to even acknowledge that we need that help, so you are already doing awesome taking this first step! I have experience working with individuals struggling with a wide range of challenges and backgrounds. I currently specialize in working with young adults and adolescents facing difficulties with ADHD and anxiety.
Everyone deserves a meaningful life, though growth often requires intention and support. I’m David Coen, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and challenges related to self-worth or direction. While I support clients across many backgrounds and professions, I have particular appreciation for those in creative fields—such as writers, designers, and visual artists—who may experience heightened sensitivity, self-criticism, or pressure tied to performance and originality.

How my practice is different:
Goal Focused Therapy. I believe in short, goal-focused therapy. That’s why, we set goals and together we hit the ground running. If you put in the work, you’ll see results within 12 weeks. I know that’s a bold statement, but my past clients can attest to that.
Client Feedback. I check in periodically on your thoughts about the process. I want to hear from you, what’s working? What isn’t? Is there anything that you’d like to see different? And then I tweak it accordingly.
I know it can be hard to find the right therapist. Maybe you think it’s only for people with “serious” issues. Maybe you’ve been to a few therapists but you didn’t see change and you’re wondering what another therapist can offer you. Maybe you’re afraid of what people will think of you if you go to therapy. Maybe you’re not sure therapy is worth the investment.
