My background includes in patient psychiatric care, hospice settings, in patient substance abuse facilities, and I have psychodynamic training working with groups, teens, individuals, and couples. I work often with parenting issues, women’s issues, pregnancy/postpartum, adults raised by emotionally unavailable caregivers, sexual issues, and relationship difficulties.
I’m an experienced mental health professional and leader with a strong background in therapy, behavioral health, and military family support. With over a decade of post-graduate experience, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals, families, and service members navigate life’s challenges with compassion and professionalism. I combine clinical expertise with a warm, approachable style that fosters trust and collaboration.
I am a seasoned counselor familiar with adolescents, issues of personal development, empowerment, issues about personal power, overcoming fear, and identifying values. I value honesty, courage, self-actualization and altruism. I have worked almost exclusively with males. I see the world from a male perspective because that's the point of view I have experienced life through. I have spent years in the gym. I am a musician, and I play out somewhere every week.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider. I have a masters degree in Social Work and a BA in Economics. Clients get my full attention and best effort.
I am experienced in evaluating risk of harm to persons. I know a lot about how people use and/or misuse power.

I taught in the first Federally Funded Kindergarten program for economically deprived children in Texas. I taught kindergarten until 1989 when I became an elementary school counselor until retiring from the school system. I worked in an agency for one year before establishing my private practice. I now only work remotely. I trained in Heart Math, a medical tool to help calm the brain. I like to work with clients to minimize their negative thinking and shift to positive consciousness, using the writings of Dr. David Hawkins.

Clients should know that I believe everyone has strengths and the ability to create positive change. My approach is supportive, respectful, and focused on what’s working rather than what’s wrong.
